Monastery Square
Monstery Square is located right in front of the Holy Trinity Monastery, the primary creation of the Siberian bishop Philophey Leschinsky.
A monument in honor of prelate Philophey stands in the middle of the square. In the centre of the sculpture is a figure of the prelate. Above him hangs an arch crowned with a cross, symbolizing a chapel dome. In his right hand he holds a crosier, the symbol for the native peoples of Siberia and the Cossacks who conquered them. Prelate Philophey Square is a small park yet a very comfortable place to relax. The walls of the nearby monastery create a serene ambience for the park. In the spring when the apple trees are in blossom this park is one of the most magnificent places in Tyumen.
