Museum of Fine Arts

Founded in 1957 as an art gallery, today the Tyumen Regional Fine Arts Museum is considered one of the best art museums beyond the Ural region.

The crown jewel of the Museum is its comprehensive collection of the visual arts, including the unique collection of Russian portrait paintings of the 18th and the beginning of the 20th centuries. The gallery also possesses paintings of many West Siberian artists of the 17th and the 19th centuries as well as the works of Soviet and contemporary artists and sculptors.

The arts and crafts represented are the porcelain pieces of the Emperor's factory, a collection of carved bone from city of Tobolsk, clay toys and many valuable objects such as the English Wedgewood pitcher of the 18th century and delftware plates of the 17th century. The permanent exhibition of the Tyumen Fine Arts Museum includes the paintings and sculpture of Soviet artists of the 20th century, the carved bone from Tobolsk, the Russian sculpture of 1960-1990s, glass, ceramics, porcelain and many more fine pieces.
