Tsvetnoy Boulevard

Tsvetnoy Boulevard is Tyumen’s main square. The walking area connects Ordzhonikidze Street with Pervomayskaya Street through the very center of the city.

In 2004 the Tyumen Region celebrated its 60th year anniversary, and to celebrate this occasion the regional administration began to build a pedestrian boulevard in the city center (near the recreation park and the stadium). Soon the project was finished, and the boulevard was named “Tsvetnoy”, which means “full of flowers”. Today the boulevard includes a circus, many restaurants, the Yubileyniy Sport Center and the city’s largest fountain located in the centre of the square. The Tsvetnoy Boulevard is acknowledged as the city centre, and it is a favorite place for the youth to get together and hang out. Various malls and entertainment centers surround the boulevard, and there is also an amusement park on one side of the square.
